SCRABBLE ME A NEW VARIATION TO THE CLASSIC BOARD GAME Unlike Other Sites Selling Scrabble Me We Actually Played The Game And Tell You Our Honest Thoughts  Although I like Scrabble, one of the downsides is it can be a slow moving game. In fact, my 16 year old daughter doesn't have the patience for regular Scrabble. But to indulge me for this product review she agreed to join the family and play a game of Scrabble Me with us. To begin, game play is much quicker with Scrabble Me because everyone is placing their words down at the same time. It took about a half hour to play, which is not too bad for a game of Scrabble. The mechanics of play is the same as regular Scrabble, but the strategy involved during play is quite different. In fact, using my normal Scrabble strategy got me into a bind, and made it harder for me to get a good score. It takes some practice to get the hang of this new version, and to plan your moves. Yes, it really is a new version of Scrabble. When you take a look at the picture below you will see the game does not look like regular Scrabble. For starters, you don't play on one common board. Each player has their own small Scrabble Me board to play on. And you will also see in the picture below, some tiles are shown face up!  Also, when you replenish tiles you have the choice of taking exposed tiles or choosing random tiles from the bag site unseen. The added choice of choosing exposed tiles or hidden tiles forces you to think differently than you do in regular Scrabble. It made the game more interesting, and called for a different type of strategic thinking process. The last difference in this game is the power of the blank tile (two included in the set). As with regular Scrabble, the blank is a wild tile and can be used as any letter, but in addition, using the blank tile forces you to swap boards with another player. The swap could be a good or bad move for you, but you have no choice...play a blank and you must trade boards with someone. Scrabble Me is an interesting game to play. I enjoyed it even though I was not the winner, but it is a different game than Scrabble. I liked the game play, and I really liked the fast play of the game. I won't say it is a Scrabble replacement, but it is a good addition and alternative to Scrabble. So, if you like Scrabble or other types of word games such as Boggle or Upwords, then Scrabble Me is right up your alley! By the way, the set is made with top of the line materials...solid wood racks, solid wood tiles, heavy duty game boards, cloth tile bag...only the exposed tile tray is not up to the same standards...it would have been nice if a slightly thicker plastic was used. For ages 8 and up...2 to 4 players! Scrabble
