Mighty Mind

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM YOUR WEB DEVELOPER ABOUT THIS GAME As your web developer (and the father of two children) I would like to tell you about Mighty Mind from personal experience before we get down to the nitty gritty of the game.

Although our company is in business to make money, we do not sell the hottest fad games to make that money, we focus on great educational games that are fun and teach children skills...and this item really fits the bill, it is really great!

Not only did my children love Mighty Mind, my daughter's school bought a number of sets for their classrooms after my daughter brought her Mighty Mind to class one day. And the games became a very popular item during "free time" (in our school, children have fifteen minutes a day to pursue an activity of their choosing...reading, playing a game with a friend, doing an art project, etc.).

Funny note, when my oldest daughter heard I was going to pass along our set to a neighbor she became very upset. She wanted me to save it for the children she plans to have one day! (I told her, when the day comes I will by them a brand new set.)

MightyMind has received numerous awards and accolades. It received a Parents' Choice Award. It was hailed by Dr. Toy as a Best Vacation Toy. It received four Award Nominations from Parenting Magazine. It was praised by the New York Times and it was cited by Women's World!

MightyMind is a tangram type game. Tangrams by definition are a Chinese puzzle made by cutting a square of thin material into five triangles, a square, and a rhomboid  which are capable of being recombined in many different figures

This game comes with many more shapes and the goal is to eventually be able to combine the shapes into specific patterns of figures, animals, people, etc. The set begins with easy challenges (to build confidence) and progresses to harder challenges for the child.

Although it can be played with a friend, it is best suited for playing alone. MightyMind is a structured tangram set. Tangrams need to be made from a series of 30 puzzles which become more challenging as the card number increases. It begins easy enough for any child to enjoy, but eventually children learn by themselves to build and solve some very complex puzzles.

Children learn to think for themselves. And they get to accomplish rewarding tasks independently without competitive pressure.

Mighty Mind comes with 32 shapes, 30 pattern design cards and a storage try. The manufacturer recommends this for ages 3 to 8, but we think ages 5 to 8 may be more appropriate!
