Smarty Farm

Smarty Farm is a fantastic game which uses animals to teach prereading skills!

Before a child can learn to read, the child must develop the ability to see small differences between letters. For instance, most children have difficulty distinguishing the difference between lower case "b" and lower case "d" and the similarity of the letter "M" and the letter "W". Even the letters "E" and "F" look alike to many children!

As you can imagine, learning letters is boring to most children. So what Smarty Farm does is it makes learning this important skill exciting and fun by combining a child's natural love for animals and farms with a fun to play and challenging game which can be played alone or with up to 4 players.

The object of Smarty Farm is to find an exact combination of animals pictured on a playing card and to match them to a window on a barn displaying the same combination. It sounds a lot easier than it really is. What makes Smarty Farm both difficult and challenging is the way the animals are shown.

The animals (pig, chicken, cow) are represented on the cards, playing boards and dice cubes as silhouetted forms. It takes sharp perception skills for a child to learn to see the very small differences between each form, and to decide which window on the barn should be covered.
