This is a great game...not only for Thomas fans, but for all children. It is interesting, yet easy to play. It has great game play, the element of surprise and for Thomas fans, it features Thomas, Molly, Percy and James.

The object of the game is to lay tracks from their sidings to the main line, so they can travel over the bridge and into the train shed. The first engine to enter the roundhouse wins!

We like this game because each time you play, the game is different. To begin, you don't actually play the game at first--first, you must create the game board, which will be different each time you play!

Before players get to move their train, they must lay the track. On a player’s turn, they spin the spinner and it reveals what shape and color track they are to use. There are straight track pieces and curved track pieces of three different colors; red, blue, and yellow.

So, besides being a fun game, the Thomas Making Tracks game is also a great way to teach younger children, or reinforce color recognition and basic shapes concepts.

By the way, the quality of the game board and pieces are top notch, and when children create their track, the pieces are inserted directly into the board, which keeps them tight and secure. 

After the track is placed the actual game begins...a race to the finish...be the first train to enter the roundhouse, and you win!  

Game includes game board, 72 track pieces, 4 engine tokens with stands (Thomas, Molly, Percy, and James), spinner, and a rule book.

By the way, if you lose or break a piece the manufacturer replaces pieces for a nominal fee.
