We sell all types of real musical instruments for children such as rhythm instruments for schools and beginner guitars. But we don't offer many toy instruments for children because most of them are not made well enough to stand up to the rigors of a child. So, when we first were told about this toy accordion we were skeptical...until we actually saw it, and handled it ourselves!

We shouldn't have been surprised that this accordion was well made because it is made by Hohner, a company which makes top of the line professional instruments used by musicians around the world.

When most people think of Hohner, they think of harmonicas. But Hohner also makes guitars, ukeleles, banjos, mandolins, drum kits, and they make professional accordions...that's right, professional accordions which cost up to a thousand dollars each!

Again, this is just a toy accordion we are featuring. But it is a well constructed, nice sounding instrument for a toy. And--it works like the real thing!

The Hohner accordion is for children ages four and up. It is small, but powerful. The casing is translucent so a young child can see how the instrument works. And when you look inside, you will see the quality construction and fine materials which went into making this accordion!

The bellows are a reinforced heavy duty cardboard material which will stand up to the rigors of a child, and the keying mechanisms use metal rods for paddle movement. Included with each accordion is a fully illustrated instruction booklet with two starter songs.

To tell you the truth, most children will just experiment with this toy. They will make up their own songs by pressing the buttons and pushing the bellows back and forth. 

But that's okay. As they have fun, they will actually be starting to develop the skills they will need if they play a real instrument later in life!

By simply playing with this toy they will develop coordinative skills, and finger dexterity.

And if they begin to take this toy seriously, they will truly be on their way to musical development at an early age because playing the accordion takes practice, concentration, coordination and dexterity.

Overall, this is one neat little toy.

The only thing missing is a pinky ring :-)
