Red Den Den

The Den Den is a Japanese instrument that is also known as a Twisting Drum. The Den Den is played by rolling the handle back and forth between the palms of the hands. The Den Den creates a medium pitch rhythmic sound when the two wooden beads hit the heads of the drum. Because the heads are made from rawhide, the color and consistency varies from side to side and instrument to instrument. The Den Den measures 9" long from the top of the head to the bottom tip of handle.
