Fisher Price Chatter Phone

The Fisher Price Chatter Phone is a classic toy that has withstood the test of time. It is a colorful appealing toy that has entertained many generations of children. It is a great toy because it has many different features. As a pull toy it is light-weight and its friendly face's eyes playfully move up and down while in motion. As a chatter phone, it encourages speech, pretend play, and when children begin to dial the phone they enhance fine finger control and other coordinative skills.

Although this classic toy has evolved over the years, the evolution was to make the toy safer and more kid friendly. For instance, its sharp pointed corners have been rounded, and its dangerously long cord has been shortened.

OUR CANDID PERSONAL THOUGHT: We take pride in telling you all the pluses and minuses about a toy. The truth is we wish the telephone's cord was slightly longer. We understand it has been shortened from versions of years gone because older versions were a choking hazard, but it probably could be slightly longer than it is and still be safe. But regardless, this is still a terrific toy with tons of features, and children don't seem to mind that the cord is on the short side. It is a classic toy that children love, and maintains all of its other great features...the rotary dial on the top of the phone rings a bell when the dial spins around, the eyes move and the wheels make a cute sound as the phone moves, and most importantly--it is made out of safe and durable plastic that can, and will take a lot of abuse.

The toy is for children ages 1 year and up.
