Madeline's Tea Party book is part of the Penguin Young Readers collection. It is a Level 2 book written for progressing readers and has longer sentences and simpler dialogue than a beginner reader book.

This book, besides being a terrific Madeline story, is the perfect reader for children who can figure out unknown words by using picture and context clues. And to further enhance the educational value, the book includes suggestions for activities and reading comprehension questions.

But enough of the educational aspects, and on to Madeline!

Madeline is hosting an afternoon tea party for the girls and their neighbor Pepito, the Spanish Ambassador's son. Pepito is late, as well as naughty, and Madeline asks him to leave. Eventually Pepito learns the error of his naughty ways and Madeline and Pepito are friends once again.

The book is written and illustrated by John Bemelmans Marciano, the grandson of Ludwig Bemelmans the author of the original Madeline stories. The illustrations and rhyming text are very much in the style of the original Madeline books.

Young readers now have a Madeline book they can read independently.

Enjoy this paper version of the book for only $3.99. And, if you like the book, you will love the Madeline Tea Set. The book and tea set make a great gift!
